Alan Quasha, president and CEO of Quadrant Management, was interviewed about his work at the company. The question posed was, “You and Quadrant have been in the restructuring business for many years, which now must be very popular with companies seeking to navigate these difficult times. What’s your process?” Quasha responded: “We’re principals, rather than advisers or consultants, in restructuring situations. We restructure companies with ownership in mind because the process often requires making fundamental changes to the business model and laying out a strategy for where the business can go. When we started doing it 30 years ago, there was no money in restructuring as an agent, so you pretty much had to do it as a principal.”
